Adam and Dog

Hey World, So it's been a really long time since I've posted something! And I'm sorry about that. I really appreciate all of the support and feedback I've gotten from all of you. It has really been overwhelming. A big thank you to all of you! Anyway, I just wanted to post about Adam and Dog, a project that I was lucky enough to be a part of this past year. It was written and directed by Minkyu Lee, one of my best friends and one of the most talented people I know. We recently screened it for our friends in LA and it was amazing! Last week we found out that it made the shortlist for the Academy Award for Best Animated Short Film. I'm so proud of Minkyu and so happy to be a part of the crew. The film is breathtaking! You can watch the trailer below and follow updates for the project here. Hope you all enjoy!!

Dear Stephen Schwartz,

I know you can relate to the plight of loving a story, loving a medium, and trying to convince someone in power to see your vision! You did it with Marc Platt when you convinced him to make it a stage musical. I’m just approaching you with the same sincerity. Is it possible to talk you out of doing a live action movie adaptation? Would you consider doing a traditionally animated adaptation? In my heart I think the musical needs the medium, and I think the medium needs your musical. I just love them both so much and hopefully that shows through in the story reel.

Sincerely,
Heidi Jo Gilbert

WIN!

So my ward got challenged by the undefeated Santa Monica ward to a game of powder puff football. And I'm getting WAY too into it! I had never played football before, but it's AWESOME! We're going to take them DOWN! Anyway I've gotten a little carried away, and I drew a logo for our team. The Glendale Angels! Ha ha! It was fun to kind of mix animation with graphic design! Took FOREVER to make it in Illustrator! Maybe later I'll put up the different stages I went through. Anyway. That's all. Let's win.

FLY you fools!

Because my brother's (and hence my) birthday is coming up, and also because I REALLY want Minkyu to draw Jean Grey for me....I finally drew Elphaba to keep up my end of the bargain!

You may think that she's commanding her monkey minions with the wave of her hand, but you'd be wrong. She's actually reaching for her hat that flew off frame when she decided to try defying gravity.

Good thing my brother doesn't check my blog.

King Louie

Wow. I updated.

YouTube cut off the end of my video. Which kind of annoys me but I don't know how to fix it.
